Roller mills (SMK516, USM40)

High capacity fine rolling mills are used for fine grinding of ceramic and sometimes sand mixtures featuring a gap between rolls from 1.5 to 5 mm.

When opting for fine grinding rolling mills one should consider the following process parameters:

- Capacity ton / hour: for higher capacity use thicker sleeves on the rolls;

- Fineness of grinding: for finer target clay use higher rolls compression;

- Mass properties: moisture, abrasiveness, and particle size.

Mills may have the following parameters:

- rolls’ size

- drive capacity

- rolls compression concept

- rolls mounting on the body

- sleeve thickness

The three most common types of rolls compression are:

- spring energized;

- hydraulic system – oil;

- pneumatic system – air.
